Today marks 6 months since I joined bookstagram! And it’s also new year’s eve tomorrow!

I see so many pretty/well organized book shelves on the accounts I follow..

But for me, I’ve only now as of mid 2020 found a love for the world of literature. I was just reading the wrong books that put me off when I was younger.

You might not think that this is ‘aesthetically pleasing’ enough for the Gram, or the right angle or whatever it takes to get X number of likes and shares. But here’s the thing.

I don’t care. I have loved the books I’ve read this year (12! Huge for me!!!!!), And I choose to celebrate that for the simplicity of the pleasure.

(I’m also pretty thankful for meeting some lovely book lovers along the way, thank you for being SO supportive and kind and having wonderful lit taste, I have tagged as many as I can!)

So enjoy the dust on the book shelf. Enjoy the old perfumes on the shelves. Enjoy the DNF book at the bottom that I threw back to the shelf because I didn’t want to read it any more.

This is real reading, what a wonderful literary story this shelf tells, of me in 2020.

As for 2021, I’d like to read more, escape more, and take better care of me 😇

  1. Yay! I’m so glad you have fallen in love with reading 🧡 I am looking forward to sharing book tips (and everyday rants and thoughts) with you during 2021!

  2. To find a love of reading is way more important than the likes, and you can find so many books through other people’s accounts that make you fall in love with so many things. For me (I set mine up in May) it was daring to read genres I wouldn’t normally read. Bookstagram is fab for these things. Keep going ☺️
