Solving crime in a detective’s job is expected; however, very few would go the extra mile. Battle for Power is an outstandingly written Crime Thriller book by Prraveen Khumar. It takes us on a roller coaster ride with multiple exciting twists and a beautiful story in the background.
🤔Uniqueness
Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot are two of the best-known detectives worldwide. Thilak Ratnagar has similar potential with a different Indian version to him. He goes out of his way to resolve the crime irrespective of the dangers it poses to him and his close ones.
🤯Predictability
Prraveen has spun a web and beautifully removed every single layer. Unlike many suspense novels, the reader was not overloaded with mystery. The unveiling of the suspense is done towards the end. The puzzle was broken step by step in the course of the story.
🖊Writing style
The back story was a bit extensive than required, and there are one or two loose ends in the story. But, neither of them broke the charm the book contains. Prraveen has written a crime novel with minimal jargon for everyday readers.
💸Cost worth
215 INR for an international standard crime novel is a deal that any reader would die for. The Kindle edition has been thoughtfully priced lower than the paperback edition..
🎥Entertainment
I started reading this book on a late Thursday night while fully aware that I was loaded with work the next day. By the first 10 pages, I was so indulged that I lost track of time and realized only after midnight. It was unputdownable until the end.
⚖Verdict
All in all, it is a well-crafted crime mystery novel that can be read in 2 to 3 hours. Thilak as a character has lots of scopes to be revisited in many sequels. Prraveen has done a terrific job in bringing this story to readers.
