Review – So Lucky by Dawn O’Porter, read with @megsbookdiary
This was my first book of 2021.
I absolutely loved how fast paced this was. I, no word of a lie, read this in 3 days. If you don’t know me, you won’t know that I’ve recently got my reading pace down to a book a month, so this book says a LOT.
I, as Meg my buddy read would agree, was never bored! The author has an easy style of writing, and develops characters well too.
I LOVED watching these characters grow, build their relationships, learn.. I laughed, smiled, had my heart warmed, and even felt my eyes widen/bulge at one point! I really felt invested in the characters from very very early on and literally found it next to impossible to put the book down because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. I had to know what the characters would do in their situations. The author was also fab at cliff hangers in each sub chapter.. teasing you to keep turnt the page!!
The author deals with lots of issues that women now face and keeps it quite contemporary too which I liked.
There was one or two moments that I thought the scene in a given chapter was slightly unrealistic, but I absolutely loved the ending in its different forms. This was the only thing that stopped it being a 5 star for me. I would definitely recommend.
This book is perfect if you’re a woman, doubting the path you’re on. They say the grass is always greener on the other side!
I cannot wait to read The Cows next at some point with @bookish_rach ✌️⭐
Ps I know my feed might look weird now cos I posted this two days ago but I don’t care 😂
